A new addition to my collection! GHQ, 1/ 285 Tiger I.

This is the last scenario of the rulebook; on our table slightly altered. We wanted a scenario with more closed terrain of that we played in our previous game (Russia). Can you imagine something better than Normandy? – Maybe a scenario in Far East ?…aarghh

The scenario is set late in the Normandy Campaign, on August the 19th, and focuses on the Canadian advance into St Lambert‐sur‐Dive where the Allies were attempting to plug the neck of the Falaise Gap.

I only post some photos and not a complete AAR this time. Some of the photos were awful! Sorry guys…

The units were that close but they couldn’t spot each other because of the terrain. Canadian blinds with the red dots and the german with black dots.

  1. Thanks guys! John you should set up a 6mm nice board on your own. Maybe then your friends change their minds about the tiny beauty of the 1/ 285 – 1/300 scales.

  2. Beautiful set up. Tempted to try this one myself as I have lots of 6mm figures that I use with Spearhead. I have never played IABSM, I know it is a company level game with 1:1 representation scale but can it be “bath tubed” so that 1 base = 1 platoon? Think you would need to do that for some of the larger battles in Normandy such as Buron where there were around 6 to 7 companies per side.

    1. Thank you Brian.
I’m not sure if the command and control system of the game suits to 1 base = 1 platoon. Maybe BKC (Blitzkrieg Commander) meets these criteria.

      1. If you don’t mind my asking, What color sheet did you start with? Is it flannel? Did you use various colors of spray paint or something else (like dye)?

  3. Sorry for the delay of my answer 🙂 Well, it’s a cheap medium green cotton bed sheet. I used green, beige, brown colors to over sprayed it to make it looks more natural.

  4. Lovely set up, terrain, figures and tanks and just beautiful. Just wondering there is a close up of the Canadian Infantry, could you tell me the manufacturer
